Job summary

The Nemours Foundation seeks an Inpatient Hospital Coder in Orlando, FL to assess documentation and assign codes for hospital and professional services. The coder will use AHA guidelines, CPT and ICD-10-CM rules, and payer-specific requirements to ensure accurate coding and charge capture.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of inpatient coding experience, an Associate degree, and certifications such as CCS/RHIT/RHIA; CRC is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred.
• Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology required/preferred.
• CCS, RHIT, RHIA; CRC preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in inpatient coding.

Responsibilities

• Assess documentation to assign codes for hospital and professional sessions.
• Code principal diagnoses, secondary conditions, procedures, and related codes.
• Apply CPT and ICD-10-CM guidelines and payer rules.
• Ensure proper charge capture and minimize rework.
