The role requires understanding MEAT criteria, RAF/HCC factors, and payer-specific rules to ensure accurate charge capture and minimize rework. 3-5 years of coding experience is expected, with CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree preferred.
• Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology.
• One of CCS/RHIT/RHIA; CRC preferred.
• 3-5 years experience.

Responsibilities

• Code principal diagnoses, procedures for inpatient and professional sessions.
• Meet monthly production and quality targets for all CPT codes.
• Apply payer-specific rules and CPT/ICD-10-CM guidelines.
• Use MEAT criteria and RAF/HCC considerations for coding.
• Analyze high-risk encounters to ensure accurate charge capture.
• Code for hospital and professional sessions across lines with cross-disciplinary data retrieval.
• Specialize in multiple surgical lines (Cardiac, ENT, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Plastics, Urology).
