Job summary

Sinai Hospital is seeking a remote Medical Coder to review inpatient records, assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, and determine DRGs. The role emphasizes accuracy and adherence to coding guidelines, working fully remotely.

Eligible remote states include District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. A two-year associate degree in a specialized field and coding knowledge are required. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

100% REMOTE OPPORTUNITY

Eligible Remote States: District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia

Key Responsibilities:

• Following established coding conventions and guidelines, review, code, and abstract medical records for inpatient services.
• Review medical records to identify physician-documented diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes to documented diagnoses and procedures.
• Group assigned codes to determine appropriate Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRGs), including CMS-DRGs and/or APR-DRGs.
• Ensure coding and documentation are accurate and compliant with established standards and guidelines.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Formal working knowledge equivalent to an associate degree (two years of college) in a specialized field.
• Knowledge of medical coding principles, conventions, and guidelines.
• Ability to accurately review medical records and assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes.

Pay Range: $22.22 to $39.12 per hour (based experience)
