Job summary

LifeBridge Health System is offering a 100% remote opportunity for a professional medical coder. The role focuses on reviewing inpatient records, assigning ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, and determining DRGs to support CMS-DRGs and APR-DRGs accuracy within Sinai Hospital's system.

Qualified candidates have an associate degree and solid knowledge of medical coding principles, with the ability to ensure compliant coding across patient records and guidelines.

100% REMOTE OPPORTUNITY

Eligible Remote States: District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia

Key Responsibilities

• Following established coding conventions and guidelines, review, code, and abstract medical records for inpatient services.
• Review medical records to identify physician-documented diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes to documented diagnoses and procedures.
• Group assigned codes to determine appropriate Diagnosis-Related Groups (DRGs), including CMS-DRGs and/or APR-DRGs.
• Ensure coding and documentation are accurate and compliant with established standards and guidelines.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Formal working knowledge equivalent to an associate degree (two years of college) in a specialized field.
• Knowledge of medical coding principles, conventions, and guidelines.
• Ability to accurately review medical records and assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes.

Pay Range

$22.22 to $39.12 per hour (based on experience)
