Job summary

A leading healthcare solutions provider is looking for an Inpatient Coder in Chicago, IL. You will be responsible for assigning diagnostic codes to patient charts and abstracting data with precision. Required qualifications include RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS certification along with 3 years of inpatient coding experience. Benefits include a 401k plan and eligibility for medical, dental, and vision insurance. This position offers a possibility of contract-to-hire after an initial 26-week duration.

Progress on your journey to success! ECLARO is currently recruiting for an Inpatient Coder in the Chicago, IL area for one of our clients.

Position Overview

• HIM Inpatient Coder - Strong academic, trauma and/or research university coding experience.

Pay Rate: $44.70/Hour

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM-PCS and/or CPT-4 diagnostic and procedure codes to patient charts with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Abstract selected data items and enter them in 3M encoder/Epic software with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Complete UHDDS data abstraction as required.
• Maintain a log of work performed.
• Complete other assigned duties as directed by management.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge: RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS Certification
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in inpatient medical record coding
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy and physiology
• Proficiency with Windows applications, Outlook, Webex and other apps as needed to perform the role
• Ability to concentrate on task in an open distracting environment in an independent manner; minimizing distractions in a private work-from-home space
• Ability to apply local, state, and federal coding guidelines with attention to detail

Shift / Job Duration

Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 17:00)

Job Duration: 26 weeks (with possibility of contract-to-hire)
