Job Summary and Qualifications

As a remote Inpatient Coding Specialist, you will review hospital inpatient records, assign and validate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes, and perform coding and DRG validation across multiple entities.

Responsibilities include:

• Assigning, sequencing, validating, and editing codes/DRGs and abstracted data for inpatient records.
• Using complete medical records for accurate coding.
• Initiating and reviewing physician queries per policy.
• Periodically performing Coding Account Resolution duties if needed.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in HIM/HIT preferred.
• At least 2 years of inpatient acute care coding experience.
• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
