Job summary

Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a clinical pharmacist to join its team in a fast-paced inpatient setting. You will participate in patient care rounds, provide therapeutic recommendations, and respond to hospital emergencies, working closely with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals.

The role emphasizes medication safety, patient education and integrated pharmacy services across departments, with opportunities for professional growth and program advancement.

Qualifications

• Eligible for Massachusetts pharmacy licensure.
• Board certification preferred; must be obtained within 18 months.
• ASHP-accredited PGY1/PGY2 in Internal Medicine or Pharmacotherapy preferred.
• Work independently and follow department policies/procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts.
• Provide drug information and patient education.
• Maintain 20 CE credits per year.
• Experience with IV admixtures, drug information, ambulatory care, manufacturing and drug distribution.

Responsibilities

• Participate in patient care rounds and make therapeutic recommendations.
• Answer complex drug information questions.
• Respond to hospital emergencies and provide clinical interventions for admitted patients.
• Contribute to policy development, workflow optimization and clinical program advancement.
• End-to-end direct patient care and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
