Job summary

Actalent's Boston, MA, Department of Pharmacy is hiring a full-time pharmacist for the evening shift to support inpatient operations. The role emphasizes accurate interpretation of orders, safe dispensing, patient education, and collaboration with clinicians to optimize medications.

Massachusetts licensure is required (intern licensure allowed with timely full licensure). Hospital experience, EPIC Willow/Beacon proficiency, and strong analytical skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts pharmacist license required; Massachusetts pharmacist intern license holders must obtain licensure within the first 90 days of employment.
• Post-degree internship coursework: up to one year; two to three years general pharmacy experience, or one year directly related pediatric experience.
• Hospital pharmacist experience and EPIC Willow/Beacon experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Distribute controlled substances and oversee non-sterile compounding and discharge prescriptions.
• Review medication orders for appropriateness and contact physicians as needed.
• Fill/dispense physician orders; verify labeling and preparation.
• Provide drug information and patient education.
• Complete medication history documentation and participate in quality improvement.
• Supervise support personnel and ensure procedures are followed.
