Job summary

Intermountain Health St Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings, Montana, invites pharmacists to join a decentralized inpatient pharmacy team. You will directly participate in patient care areas and clinical decision-making, rotating through Pediatrics, NICU, ICU, OR, and ED to ensure safe, effective medication therapy.

The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians, nurses, and pharmacists, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy or PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited institution (education verified).
• License to practice pharmacy in the state of practice and dispense controlled substances.
• Current knowledge of state and federal regulations governing pharmacy practice.
• Effective communication, people management, and project management skills.
• Immunization certification if applicable to practice site needs

Responsibilities

• Reviews patients' medication orders for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness of drug therapy, and drug-drug interactions.
• Makes appropriate evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use and ensures safe, effective therapies.
• Oversees and/or participates in ensuring medications are prepared and delivered timely to care areas.
• Provides counseling to patients and promotes quality medication education and adherence.
• Ensures patient is well informed, treated with respect, and receives the highest level of professional service.
• Completes regulatory training and ensures documentation of regulatory requirements.
• Supervises interns, technicians, and support personnel as required and provides clinical consultation to health professionals.
• Identifies process improvements to enhance patient satisfaction and safety and supports leadership initiatives.
