Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of acute care and/or medical/surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standing.
• BLS/BCLS within 90 days of employment or current certification.
• ACLS within 90 days of employment or current certification.
• PALS required when pediatric care is part of facility scope within 90 days of employment or certification.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient status at intervals per policies and procedures, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, hemodynamic stability, pain and comfort, and mental status.
• Interpret information from noninvasive and invasive monitors.
• Describe pathology and physiology of common diseases and anesthesia/operating interventions.
• Develop an individualized plan of care and patient education.
• Administer medications safely using the 8 rights of medication administration.
• Provide nursing care and appropriate monitoring per policy.
• Perform infection prevention interventions and maintain tissue perfusion.
• Coordinate hand-offs with teammates; delegate tasks per state regulations.
