Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a patient care role that provides direct patient support and assists with non-direct care unit coordination. The incumbent will perform basic nursing procedures for stable patients and aid in care documentation in the electronic medical record.

Work under supervision of a Registered Nurse for stable patients and under direct supervision for acutely ill or complex cases. Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers while maintaining safety and privacy

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform basic mathematics; basic computer skills.
• Prefer acute care experience within last 3 years.
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program; clinical rotation preferred.
• CPR – American Heart Association; background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities (e.g., ADLs, vital signs, ambulation, I&O, meals, specimen collection).
• Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives and adheres to infection control and privacy standards.
• Reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff and supports safety protocols.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers on the inpatient unit.
• Maintains unit cleanliness and supports stocking and equipment cleaning.
