Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc., through the Psychiatric Institute of Washington, seeks an Inpatient Therapist to provide individual and group therapy, psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, and treatment planning for adults in inpatient behavioral health. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to support stabilization and transitions of care.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in a related field, DC licensure (LGPC/LPC/LGSW), 1–2 years of clinical experience, and CPR/BLS

Qualifications

• Requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field and DC licensure (LGPC/LPC/LGSW).
• 1–2 years of direct clinical behavioral health experience.
• Experience with substance use and trauma conditions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake and psychosocial assessments to identify needs and goals.
• Provide individual and group therapy for adults with mental health or trauma.
• Develop and facilitate therapeutic groups addressing resident needs.
• Provide crisis intervention and support for acute behavioral health needs.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team for treatment planning.
• Coordinate case management and continuity of care during hospitalization.
• Maintain timely documentation aligned with standards.
• Support a safe, therapeutic environment fostering stabilization and recovery.
