Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to join our team on the Behavioral Health Unit at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, CT.

The role supports recovery-oriented activities, communicates patient needs to the clinical team, monitors patient safety and collaborates with nursing staff to foster a healing environment. This is a per diem, part-time position with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent with related experience required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred.
• Certification: AHA CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Experience: Possesses a broad practical understanding of life experiences and the ability to relate to emotionally ill individuals.
• Prior experience in psychiatric setting a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient observations and other patient care activities.
• Observes patient behavior.
• Performs, reports, and documents vital signs, ADLs.
• Responds rapidly to emergency call lights and performs safety checks.
• Provides group and individual interventions to assist the psychiatric patient towards recovery and rehabilitation.
