Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England is recruiting a Behavioral Health Aide / Mental Health Worker for our Behavioral Health Unit at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, CT. This full-time position supports recovery-oriented activities and communicates patient needs to the clinical team.

The role emphasizes patient safety, observation, and collaboration with nursing staff to create a healing environment. CPR/BLS certification is required, and prior psychiatric setting experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; related experience preferred for Mental Health Worker role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field is preferred.
• AHA CPR/BLS certification required or preferred per role.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient observations and other patient care activities.
• Observes patient behavior to assess needs and safety.
• Documents vital signs, activities of daily living (ADLs) and care provided.
• Responds rapidly to emergency calls and conducts safety checks.
• Provides group and individual interventions to support recovery and rehabilitation.
