Job summary

The New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute seeks a psychiatric technician to provide care in a hospital setting. You will assist patients with activities of daily living and support the nursing and treatment staff with patient updates.

This position requires a high school diploma, a valid NM driver’s license, and compliance with safety and background checks. Compensation ranges from $17.00 to $25.49 per hour ($35,350–$53,024 annually) and is paid in Band C2.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with behavioral health diagnoses.
• Experience assisting with activities of daily living.
• Experience working in healthcare and treatment teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and basic needs.
• Assist in crisis situations and help de-escalate patients.
• Monitor patients and ensure safety with checks up to one-to-one.
• Provide feedback to nursing staff regarding symptoms observed.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable environment for patients.
