Job summary

The New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute seeks a Psychiatric Technician to provide patient care in a hospital setting. You will assist with daily living, help in crisis situations, monitor safety, and communicate observations to the nursing team.

Responsibilities include keeping environments clean, supporting treatment staff, and ensuring high-quality care. A high school diploma and basic driving/background requirements are required and maintained.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus 1 year related experience or equivalent education/experience.
• Must obtain Defensive Driving Certificate.
• Must pass background checks and HIPAA requirements.
• Must possess and maintain valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living including cuing to eat, shower, and attend activities.
• Assist in crisis situations and help de-escalate patients who may be symptomatic and agitated.
• Monitor all patients and ensure safety - including checks up to one-to-one.
• Provide feedback to the nursing staff and treatment team regarding symptoms observed.
• Ensure the environment is clean and comfortable for all patients.
