Job summary

St. Charles Health System is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to provide direct patient care on Inpatient Behavioral Health units. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to implement treatment plans and support patients and families in achieving optimal function.

The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and active participation in evidence-based practices while delivering compassionate, confidential care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral sciences field or a combination of at least three years relevant education, training or experience.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification.
• Valid Oregon driver’s license and ability to meet SCHS driving requirements.
• Oregon Food Handlers Card.
• Preferred: QMHA certification with MHACBO, CNA-2 or EMT-Basic.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to implement the treatment plan.
• Assist in planning and implementing therapeutic, recreational, social and skills training activities.
• Maintain client records reflecting progress in treatment.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
• Support a healing environment and uphold professional standards and confidentiality.
