Job summary

Havenwyck Hospital, a UHS facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan, seeks a licensed Social Work Associate to join our clinical team supporting inpatients and day hospital patients under supervision. The role includes discharge planning, therapy services, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

The ideal candidate is a second-year MSW student from a CSWE-accredited program, with experience on an inpatient psychiatric unit preferred. Internal transfer eligibility is noted.

Qualifications

• Second year last quarter student in a Master of Social Work program from a CSWE-accredited school.
• Experience on an inpatient psychiatric unit is a must.
• Employee must be in good standing to be considered for an internal transfer.

Responsibilities

• Participates as an integral professional member of a multidisciplinary treatment team led by the psychiatrist.
• Facilitates the therapeutic milieu on the treatment unit.
• Performs social work interventions as directed by the treatment team, the treating psychiatrist and/or the Lead Social Worker.
• Obtains and assesses social history information and reports this to the treatment teams.
• Performs discharge planning/case management from the day of admission.
• Provides group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, substance abuse group/didactic, and/or couples therapy as deemed appropriate by the treatment team, the treating psychiatrist, Director of Clinical Services and/or Lead Social Work.
• Acts as liaison for hospitalized patients with various community agencies and resources.
• Attends treatment team conferences and completes treatment plans.
• Documents in the medical record
