Job summary
Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit in Akron, OH. This full-time role requires a 2-year work commitment, 7am–7:30pm shifts, and a Monday–Friday schedule with rotating weekends/holidays. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available.
The department emphasizes family-centered care and interdisciplinary teamwork. The Staff Nurse will provide nursing care with a foundation in biological, physical, behavioral and social sciences,
Qualifications
- BSN required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Active RN license to practice in Ohio; Multistate License (MSL) required for certain duties.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct nursing care with family centered focus.
- Provide care for physical, psychosocial, educational and safety needs across age groups.
- Demonstrate leadership and professional duties within the unit.
- Perform patient-centered care and safety duties.
- Engage in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
- Mentor/Precept new staff and contribute to staff education.
