Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit. The role requires nursing expertise and the ability to lead, educate, and coordinate care for patients and families. A 2-year commitment and a 3rd shift (7pm–7:30am) are part of the assignment.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN, Ohio RN license, and BLS certification, with 1 year of relevant experience preferred. This onsite position offers full-time hours and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required or must be obtained within 5 years of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required (AHA).
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Ohio (Multistate License) required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care with family-centered focus.
• Provide care for physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
• Demonstrate leadership and professional duties.
• Deliver patient-centered care and participate in quality/safety activities.
• Support staff development and precept new employees as needed.
• Collaborate with providers to ensure efficient operation and quality care.
