Location:

Lowell General Hospital - 295 Varnum Avenue - Lowell, MA

Hours:

40 hours - Days, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with 1 weekend per month

Job Overview

This role involves evaluating, developing, and implementing treatment plans tailored to individual patients, using principles of physical therapy. The therapist will treat all age groups to maximize functional outcomes through exercises, modalities, and skills. Documentation of treatments must be thorough and timely to ensure quality care and compliance with policies, JCAHO standards, and reimbursement requirements. The therapist will collaborate with other disciplines and may provide coverage on weekends and holidays based on operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Graduation from an approved Physical Therapy program
• Physical Therapy License (licensure in NH may be required)
• One year of clinical experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assess, re-assess, and treat a variety of diagnoses with professionalism and efficiency, including pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general populations
• Manage patient pain and develop appropriate treatment plans
• Engage with patients and families in care planning and education, considering cultural and psychosocial factors
• Set realistic goals and develop plans for musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentary systems
• Document all patient care accurately in medical records
• Contribute to departmental efficiency, adhere to billing and insurance guidelines
• Prepare for JCAHO surveys and participate in quality improvement activities
• Attend team meetings, professional development events, and maintain safety protocols
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote safety and discharge planning
