Known for our manual therapy skill sets and friendly, upbeat attitudes, OFF-SEASON Sports & Physical Therapy has become the place to go for sports medicine rehabilitation in the Merrimack Valley. Our patient population primarily consists of athletes of all walks: marathon runners to triathletes, and weekend warriors to contact sports participants. Additionally, through our Dance & Performing Arts Rehab Program, we are able to treat dancers, gymnasts, figure skaters, and musicians! OSSPT is an affiliate of Boston Children's Hospital's Sports Medicine Division, and we are a preferred provider for physical therapy services in our region. We are also the co-medical providers of the FEASTER 5 Thanksgiving Day Road Race, and take pride in community involvement!

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role as a Physical Therapist at OFF-SEASON Sports & Physical Therapy. As a PT, you will be responsible for conducting therapy sessions, creating personalized treatment plans, assisting with rehabilitation exercises, providing patient care, and offering home care recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluation and treatment of patients of all ages and abilities in a timely manner consistent with OFF-SEASON Sports & Physical Therapy's standards, APTA's best practices, and within the scope of physical therapy set forth by the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health.
• Use of manual therapy skills when appropriate: instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization and active release techniques, as well as deep tissue and ischemic release. (Further training available upon request.)
• Use of taping techniques when appropriate: Kinesiology, McConnell taping, and other various athletic taping techniques. (Further training available upon request.)
• Educate patients, and their families when applicable, on home exercise programs and preventive care strategies.
• Proper SOAP note documentation/charting completed within 48 hours of patient visit.
• Assist with maintaining an organized clinic setting/other various clinic housekeeping needs.
• Participation in remote therapeutic monitoring.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, and ability to lift/push up to 50 lbs.

Requirements

• DPT from an accredited PT program
• Must be licensed in Massachusetts (license to be obtained within 60 days of hire)
• CPR/AED certified
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
• Experience working with active individuals is preferred (athletes, dancers, gymnasts, etc.)
• Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Our ideal candidate should be available Tuesday & Wednesday evenings, Fridays, and Saturday mornings.
