Job summary

North Mississippi Health Services is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the activity program under nursing and OT supervision, delivering personal care and helping plan, implement, and assess patient activities to improve experiences.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, ability to document in the computer system, and collaboration with staff, residents, families and volunteers to provide high quality patient care and engagement.

Qualifications

• Must complete nursing assistant competencies and perform as nursing assistant.
• Must exhibit above-average communications skills.
• Must maintain knowledge to provide age-specific care and report changes in patient condition.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned tasks under the supervision of a nurse.
• Performs personal care skills as trained and validated.
• Documents as appropriate in the computer system.
• Assists Occupational Therapist in planning, implementing, and evaluating activities.
• Supports initial and ongoing assessment of residents' conditions and activity needs.
