Job summary

Coherent Corp – Semiconductor Device Group in Sherman, TX is seeking InP Engineers and Technicians to join a growing team supporting design, fabrication, and testing of InP‑based devices. Hands‑on III‑V experience and cleanroom proficiency are preferred.

The role emphasizes process development, meticulous documentation, cross‑functional collaboration, and adherence to quality and safety standards in a photonics manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field.
• Hands‑on experience with III‑V semiconductors, particularly Indium Phosphide.
• Familiarity with MOCVD, epitaxy, photolithography, etching, and metallization processes.
• Experience with device testing and characterization techniques (e.g., IV, CV, optical measurements).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
• Associate degree or equivalent in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Experience in semiconductor fabrication, photonics, or cleanroom environments.
• Proficiency in operating laboratory and process equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain equipment for InP wafer processing, device fabrication, and characterization.
• Perform process development, testing, and optimization for InP‑based devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to materials, devices, and process flow.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
• Document experiments, results, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain a safe and compliant work environment in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
