Job summary

PACCAR in the United States is seeking a Vehicle Software and Diagnostics Tool Test Engineer to drive quality and performance of the DAVIE4 Service Tool used to deploy vehicle software and deliver diagnostics for Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks.

You will perform in-vehicle testing and bench tests, tackle complex technical challenges, and collaborate across PACCAR divisions to troubleshoot issues and keep development moving forward.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a relevant field required.
• Foundational understanding of software testing principles.
• Familiarity with CAN/J1939 protocols.
• Ability to interpret electrical systems and schematics.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle and engine diagnostic software testing using test benches and in-vehicle setups.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute small to moderate-scale projects with minimal supervision.
• Ensure functionality is validated through executable test cases.
• Recommend testing methods based on capabilities and judgment.
• Validate defect fixes and provide clear impact assessments to stakeholders.
• Foster strong communication across teams.
