Job summary

PACCAR in Lewisville, TX seeks Senior Diagnostic Engineer to develop guided diagnostic procedures and vehicle diagnostic software for heavy‑duty electronics. You will design and implement diagnostic algorithms, collaborate with global teams, support manufacturing launches, and maintain documentation; 7+ years of automotive diagnostics experience and a Bachelor’s degree required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with automotive electronic systems, including hands-on work with diagnostics.
• Experience with automotive networks such as CAN, SAE J1939 and LIN is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and written/verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally up to 5%.
• Experience with Agile Scrum, continuous improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma methods.
• Active participation in SAE, ASME, or IEEE.
• Experience creating drawings/diagrams for production and service.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, and implement diagnostic algorithms, software, interfaces, and toolset solutions.
• Provide architectural direction for diagnostic systems and toolset capabilities.
• Develop guided diagnostic procedures using a visual logic development environment and Agile methods.
• Own and evolve diagnostic toolset requirements in collaboration with global stakeholders.
• Support manufacturing launch activities and cross-functional rollout.
• Create and review engineering specifications, architecture definitions, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with global teams to address worldwide requirements and local content.
