Job summary

Clear Career Professionals is seeking a Director of Utilities to guide Lubbock's water and wastewater infrastructure through strategic planning and strong management. You will oversee goals, policies, and utility plans to ensure reliable, high-quality services for the community.

The role requires extensive knowledge of water systems, regulatory requirements, and advanced financial acumen, with responsibility for budgets, capital investments, and public engagement.

Qualifications

• TCEQ Class A Water Operator License or ability to obtain.
• TCEQ Class A Wastewater Operator License or ability to obtain.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, public administration, business administration, or related field.
• Ten (10) years of progressively responsible professional experience in public water and wastewater utilities including five (5) years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead water and wastewater operations and plant operations.
• Oversee budgets, financial controls, and resource allocation for equipment and infrastructure maintenance.
• Communicate with City leadership, staff, stakeholders, and the public on technical and financial matters.
• Provide strategic oversight and direction to ensure safety, reliability, and operational excellence of the water systems.
