Job summary

Richmond County School System is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a school-based program. The role focuses on direct instruction and support for students with disabilities, with emphasis on implementing IEPs and collaborating with general education staff.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's in special education (or be pursuing certification), meet Georgia state licensure requirements, and demonstrate strong communication, data collection, and differentiated instruction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in special education and/or pursuing certification in a content area.
• Meets Georgia state certification requirements in an appropriate field of education.
• Must have knowledge of IEP and related policies.
• Ability to adapt instructional programs and collaborate with parents and teachers.
• Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities.
• Develop and monitor IEPs and related documentation.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to modify instruction.
• Collect and review student data to guide instruction.
• Ensure safe, inclusive classroom environment.
• Communicate with parents, staff, and administrators regularly.
