Responsibilities

• Plan and implement WV content standards and high-quality secondary learning objectives.
• Implement adopted and supplemental academic programs.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials; provide individualized and small group instruction.
• Participate as a contributing member of the department or program.
• Keep records and prepare progress reports as assigned.
• Analyze data to improve instruction and model strategies to promote student achievement.
• Communicate with parents to discuss student progress and program objectives.
• Provide learning experiences to meet individual needs through instruction.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior; ensure a safe learning environment.
• Monitor an effective learning environment free of hazard, ridicule, and prejudice.
• Assist with student management in school facilities.
• Coordinate parent/teacher and student/teacher conferences to review performance.
• Perform attendance, classroom organization, and timely communications with parents and staff.
• Comply with mandatory reporting requirements for child abuse and related issues.
• Communicate with students, parents, and stakeholders clearly in writing and speaking.
• Be accountable for student achievement and provide grades per school policy.
• May plan and implement designated co-curricular activities and programs.
