Job summary

Wei-Chuan U.S.A., Inc. in Murfreesboro, TN is seeking a motivated R&D Food Technologist to develop and test new food products, ensure high quality, and improve existing formulations.

The role involves lab research, ingredient analysis, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development, conduct sensory evaluations, and support HACCP and regulatory programs.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science/Food Technology, or related field.
• Bilingual preferred (English and Chinese).
• Food Technology and Food Science knowledge.
• Experience in Research and Development (R&D).
• Laboratory skills.
• Knowledge of the food industry and market trends.
• Ability to create and develop new food products.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
• Experience with food safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• New product development from research and raw ingredient sourcing to lab prototype development, sampling preparation, costing, trial run, product’s SOP & product’s specification, develop and refine recipe formulation for mass production purposes.
• Evaluate current and alternative food ingredients, create product recipes, and conduct sensory evaluation of new food products to ensure to meet customer needs and requirements.
• Participates on cross-functional teams to ensure effective resolution of technical issues and support product innovation.
• Assist the QA Department in evaluating the HACCP program for new products to ensure the proper function of the Quality Assurance Department including but not limited to Quality, Regulatory, Food Safety, HACCP, SSOP, Labeling, and USDA.
• Other duties as assigned by Management
