Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 1+ year of relevant work experience.
• Ability to read and review construction documents; provide technical sign-off.
• Understanding of space planning and design concepts.
• Familiarity with applicable codes and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Formulate preliminary space plans and sketches that integrate the client’s needs.
• Confirm preliminary space plans and design concepts are safe, functional, aesthetically appropriate, and meet all public health, safety and welfare requirements.
• Compile selection of colors, materials and finishes to convey the concept and meet lifecycle, maintenance and safety requirements.
• Compile selection and specification of furniture, fixtures, equipment and millwork, including layout drawings and contract documentation for pricing, procurement and installation.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other allied design professionals retained for consulting services.
• Ensure construction documents for non-structural/non-seismic work are signed and sealed by the interior designer where applicable.
• Assist with administration of contract documents, bids and negotiations as the client’s agent.
• Provide reporting on project implementation during progress and after completion.
