Job summary

City of Lancaster KY is seeking a Parks and Recreation Director to lead the planning and administration of county parks and recreation services. The role focuses on strategic program development, budgeting, grant writing support, and ensuring excellent communication with participants and staff to promote community engagement.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing policies and procedures, overseeing facilities, equipment, and inventory, and ensuring accessibility and responsiveness

• Must have good oral and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic plan for the development, organization, and implementation of a comprehensive sports and recreation program.
• Develop new and innovative programs, supervise scheduled activities, and recruit participants in all activities.
• Develop and administer budgets for all revenue and expenses.
• Develop and implement procedures to account for revenue and expenses that are paid or handled internally.
• Develop procedures for the purchase, maintenance, and inventory of all equipment and supplies.
• Develop policies and procedures to oversee maintenance of all facilities and grounds.
• Director must be accessible and responsive in communications with all program participants.
• Director will assist in local, state, and federal grant writing.
• Director shall perform any and all duties pertaining to the operations of the park.
• Director shall implement programs to promote adult participation.
