Job summary

Woodland Middle School in Illinois seeks a dynamic Principal to lead grades 6–8, focusing on academic, social-emotional, and physical development. The role centers on curriculum, instruction, and staff development to maximize student growth and teacher effectiveness.

The successful candidate will hold a PEL with General Administrative Endorsement, bring five years of school leadership, and demonstrate expertise in middle-level education, MTSS, and PLC-driven collaboration.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership or School Administration required.
• Five (5) years of school leadership experience and four (4) years of teaching or school support personnel experience in a public-school setting.
• Preferred: Five (5) years of principal experience in a public middle school and Spanish proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead curriculum, instruction, and staff development for middle school learners.
• Supervise staff and lead a team of assistant principals.
• Manage school budgets, safety, attendance, and student records.
• Collaborate with families and community partners to support student success.
• Implement MTSS and restorative practices to support equitable outcomes.
• Foster an inclusive, culturally responsive school culture.
