Job summary

Portland Public Schools seeks a passionate Math Teacher for PACE, an alternative high school program for grades 9–12. The candidate will leverage assessments and data to tailor instruction, while collaborating with the PACE Director to sustain a safe, high-expectation environment.

Strong communication, classroom management, and experience with students with special needs are essential. A Michigan teaching certificate with Mathematics Endorsement is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with Mathematics Endorsements.
• Strong base in math content and standards.
• Ability to use student data to inform instruction.
• Ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

Responsibilities

• Teach mathematics to high school students in grades 9–12 within the PACE program.
• Use assessments and data to guide instruction and drive student growth.
• Collaborate with PACE Director and school staff to support a safe, high-expectation learning environment.
