Job summary

Florida State University seeks a creative, enthusiastic law librarian to serve as the Research & Special Projects Librarian. This 12-month, full-time role provides research support to College of Law faculty and students and leads special projects such as the Florida Workers' Compensation Archive and Election Law Center research support.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library science from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated experience as a professional librarian per university guidelines.
• Proficiency in legal research and information technologies.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference and research support to faculty and students, including in-depth research at the reference desk, email, and in-person consultations.
• Develop, organize, describe, promote, and sustain special projects such as the Florida Workers’ Compensation Archive.
• Support the Election Law Center’s research, in collaboration with faculty, staff, students and stakeholders.
• Collaborate on projects involving digital collections, archival materials, government information, and legal history.
• Participate in legal research instruction via workshops, guest lectures, and various formats.
• Contribute to the College of Law through committee work, research, publishing, or professional organizations.
• Represent the Research Center on committees and with campus partners.
• Other duties as assigned.
