Job summary

Oilgear is seeking a New Product Development Engineer in Traverse City, MI, to lead hydraulic pump design and development. You will create advanced 3D models, perform CFD/FEA analyses, and collaborate with production and customers to deliver robust, energy-efficient solutions.

The role requires hands-on work in production environments and travel to customer sites as needed, with opportunities to influence the company’s fluid power roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Preferably 3+ years of experience in fluid power design.
• Knowledge of hydraulic system principles, fluid dynamics, and pump design.
• Experience with CFD/FEA tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of hydraulic pumps and valves.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software.
• Utilize CFD and FEA simulations.
• Develop test procedures and conduct prototype validation testing.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners and vendors to ensure quality and performance.
