Job summary

This exempt position requires a valid teaching certificate, and employment terms include 200+ days per year under WV law, with salary determined by Mineral County's teacher pay schedule and experience. Performance will be evaluated per WV policies.

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specialization and grade levels.
• Criminal background check conducted as required by WV Code.
• Meets the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of WV College and Career Readiness and district curriculum.
• Uses 21st Century Technology skills to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
• Delivers rigorous instruction to all students.
• Prepares lessons reflecting accommodations for differences in learning styles.
• Presents subject matter according to WVDE guidelines and policies.
• Plans and uses instructional strategies reflecting student needs.
• Conducts assessment of learning styles and uses results for school goals.
• Maintains open communication with parents, students, and colleagues.
• Assists with extracurricular activities as assigned.
