Job summary

MOXIE Public Schools in South Portland, Maine seeks an Associate Teacher in English Language Arts for grades 6-12. Dual certification is preferred. You’ll join a collaborative team delivering standards-aligned instruction and interdisciplinary projects in a new public school.

You will use data to tailor instruction, co-plan with teachers, and mentor students through advisory structures while contributing to MOXIE’s equity-centered learning culture and ongoing school design.

• Active Maine certification for English Language Arts grades 6-12.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily, high-quality ELA instruction aligned to MOXIE standards.
• Use data to identify learner needs and adapt instruction.
• Co-plan experiences with a multidisciplinary team.
• Support interdisciplinary Learning Experience projects.
• Mentor students through advisory structures.
• Participate in data cycles to assess student learning and plan interventions.
• Share ownership for student outcomes across subjects.
• Engage in professional learning for inclusive, project-based practice.
• Build relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Model MOXIE values and norms.
• Participate in recruitment, enrollment, and community events.
• Contribute to the design and evolution of MOXIE’s learning model.
