Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks a Nutrition/CTE instructor to plan and deliver learning experiences in Food and Nutrition I, II, Food Science and Technology, and CTE Advanced Studies. You will foster an inclusive, safe classroom and collaborate with teachers, parents, and the community to support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Dietetics, Food Service Management, Nutrition, or Baking and Pastry.
• Two years of related work experience; OR Associates degree; AND Four years of related work experience.
• Hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in teaching content area per NCDPI CTE manual.
• Preferred: ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

• Advises/co-Advises FCCLA chapter.
• Uses assessment strategies aligned with WCPSS curriculum to support learner development.
• Ensures effective communication with students, parents, and stakeholders.
• Engages in professional quality improvement for self and school.
• Implements instructional strategies reflecting diverse backgrounds and needs.
• Integrates appropriate technology in teaching and learning.
• Maintains a safe classroom environment and appropriate discipline.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
