Job summary

The University of Southern Indiana is seeking a Professional Development Specialist to collaborate with the Center for Health Professions Lifelong Learning and program coordinators to plan, implement, and evaluate continuing education activities within the Kinney College of Nursing and Health Professions.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or education, Indiana license if applicable, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or education.
  • Current Indiana license if a healthcare practitioner.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, students, staff, and healthcare providers.
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate continuing education activities.
  • Design innovative programs, revise materials, and facilitate programs including synchronous and asynchronous formats.
  • Identify content experts, speakers, reviewers, and others to provide high-quality continuing education.
  • Communicate with participants, planning committee members, instructors, and content experts to support adult learning.
  • Ensure needs assessments, audience targeting, and accreditation guidelines are met.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and gather feedback for improvements.
  • Prepare evaluation data and reports for JA-PARS and accreditation bodies.
  • Assist in marketing efforts and conference displays; collaborate with the library for literature reviews.
