Job summary

Newark Board of Education invites qualified candidates for the position of Teacher of Computer Science. This role involves planning engaging lessons, evaluating student progress, and communicating with families to support learning.

Qualifications

• Holds a New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, CE, or CEAS as deemed necessary by NJDOE cert rules.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred unless otherwise specified by NJDOE.
• Plans a program of study that meets students' needs and abilities.
• Evaluates student progress on a regular basis and prepares progress reports.

Responsibilities

• Plans and delivers instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Evaluates student progress and communicates with families.
• Instructs students in citizenship and core subjects as per state regulations.
• Provides individual or group instruction and adapts curriculum as needed.
• Maintains classroom management and appropriate behavior standards.
• Coordinates with aides and paraprofessionals to support student learning.
• Communicates with parents and pupil personnel staff about progress.

Education

NJDOE Standard Certificate / CE / CEAS as required by NJDOE cert rules

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (preferred)
