Job summary

Apple in California is seeking an Accessories Product Designer to drive the next generation of wired data and power transmission across multiple systems and stand-alone products. You will design cable solutions balancing functionality with size, reliability, cost, cosmetics, and environmental goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 years of mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and creating 2D drawings.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) including presenting technical data to multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience with designing injection and/or compression molded parts and/or stamped parts and/or deep draw metal parts.

Responsibilities

• Design cables and assemblies to meet product and cross-functional requirements.
• Review and support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) documentation.
• Support module and system-level builds.
• Review test results and drive failure analysis and corrective action support.
• Travel of approximately 5-10% to Asia.
