Instituto del Progreso Latino seeks a Biology Adjunct Instructor to implement curriculum and prepare students for college-level biology and science studies. You will develop rigorous courses and help students build seminar goals, time management, and study skills.

Responsibilities include delivering undergraduate biology content, preparing syllabi, conducting labs with safety, and using Canvas for assessments.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Biology or related field.
Two years of college teaching experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of undergraduate biology curriculum.
Knowledge of current pedagogical strategies.
Ability to develop and deliver effective lectures and labs.
Commitment to professional development.
Proficiency with educational technology and software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
Experience with a diverse, multilingual student population desired.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

Provide an effective learning environment encouraging intellectual curiosity and problem solving.
Develop and deliver course content for undergraduate biology courses.
Prepare syllabi for such courses.
Conduct laboratory sessions and ensure student safety.
Ensure curriculum development and course planning.
Design assessment processes with timely feedback.
Evaluate and document student performance.
Post assessments and outcomes in Canvas in a timely manner.
Stay updated with innovations and trends in science and pedagogy.
Commit to integrating new technologies in teaching.
Support a safe environment respectful of diversity.
Use varied teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
Teach in line with Instituto College policies.
Utilize technology and online resources to enhance teaching.
Maintain office hours for student consultations.
Other duties as assigned.
