Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Acoustics Signal Processing Analyst to advance Navy SONAR data processing on the Pickle Research Campus, within the Applied Research Laboratories. The role focuses on developing and evaluating signal processing algorithms and software tools for research and development projects.

Responsibilities include analyzing acoustic data, testing algorithms, and producing technical reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related discipline.
  • Experience with signal processing, automation algorithm design, acoustics, and system/software design.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, or similar language.

Responsibilities

  • Process and/or analyze acoustic data for SONAR system development.
  • Conduct acoustic and system engineering to test and evaluate signal processing and automation algorithms.
  • Implement and research grade software and analysis tools in MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages.
  • Preparation of analysis presentations and technical reports.
  • Support collaborative research efforts with other team members.
  • Other related functions as assigned.
