Job summary

Boston Engineering in Waltham, MA is seeking an Innovation Engineer to support the VP of Business Operations and CTO in advancing the company\'s innovation strategy and driving continuous improvement. The role interfaces with engineering and business teams to translate ideas into practical client solutions and internal enhancements.

The ideal candidate has strong communication, project coordination, and content development skills, plus a passion for robotics, IoT, AR/VR, and AI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering or manufacturing-related field.
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience; internships/co-ops considered.
• Experience synthesizing information and developing content for engineering, business, and government stakeholders.
• Familiarity with federal R&D programs and funding mechanisms.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems.
• Interest or experience in robotics, IoT, AR/VR, and AI.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new technology, product development, and systems engineering opportunities for client/internal initiatives.
• Contribute to technical proposals, white papers, and responses to business opportunities (RFPs, SBIRs, etc.).
• Represent Boston Engineering at meetings, industry events, and with partners in robotics, data science, and advanced manufacturing.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear content; develop graphics, presentations, and videos to communicate solutions and roadmaps.
• Identify opportunities, analyze tools and best practices, and help implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support invention disclosure, prior-art research, patent documentation, and coordination with IP counsel.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing Innovation Institutes, partners, and stakeholders on collaborative efforts.
