Job summary

The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club in Florida seeks an attentive server to join our dining room team. You will greet guests, guide them through their dining experience, and ensure smooth service from pre-shift to closing.

You must be flexible, able to work weekends and holidays, maintain a neat uniform, and communicate clearly with the captain and dining room manager.

The role includes daily sidework, setting tables, handling checks accurately, and contributing to a safe, welcoming guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and split shifts.
• Arrive to work on time, consistently.
• Report to work in proper uniform.
• Hair must be clean and neatly styled; management has final approval.
• Attend required training and safety courses; attend meetings.
• Report safety hazards and assist with a safe work environment.
• Complete all sidework before opening.
• Set up tables, maintain clean glassware and tableware, and ensure neat tables.
• Attend pre-shift meetings to learn daily specials.
• Greet guests promptly and with a smile.
• Guide guests through their dining experience with clear communication.
• Ring checks accurately and promptly.
• Communicate with Captain/Manager about closing time.
• Clean station and complete sidework as required.
• Close and verify all guest checks at shift end.
• Submit checks to Captain or Dining Room Manager; perform other duties as assigned.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. 1. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include weekends, holidays and split shifts.
2. 2.Arrive to work on time, consistently.
3. 3.Upon entering the property, arrive in proper uniform, crisp, clean and in good repair.
4. 4.Hair must be clean and cut in a becoming style; management has final approval.
5. 5. Attend all required training, safety courses; attend office and departmental meetings.
6. 6.Report any safety hazards, follow up that hazard has been corrected, and assist with providing a safe work environment.
7. 7. Make sure all sidework is complete before opening.
8. 8. Set up tables, glasses and silver should be clean and lined up properly; salt and pepper shakers and sugar holders full and clean; chairs, including legs and table bases are clean; flowers are appealing and fresh; table cloth is clean, crisp and hanging properly.
9. 9. Attend pre-shift meeting to learn daily specials and miscellaneous information.
10. 10.Greet guests and their guests immediately and with a smile.
11. 11. Guide guests through the course of their dining experience, communicating frequently.
12. 12. Ring members checks accurately and on a timely manner.
13. 13.Communicate with the Captain or Dining Room Manager as to closing time.
14. 14.Clean station and sidework as required.
15. 15.Close and check all guest checks at the end of shift.
16. 16.Turn in check-out to Captain or Dining Room Manager.
17. 17.Perform and follow up on all other duties assigned by Captain, Dining Room Manager or Room Service Supervisor.
