Job summary

Boulder County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Crew Boss to coordinate inmate work crews, supervise transport and on-site activities, and ensure safety and accountability in the Inmate Work Program. The role requires leadership, attention to safety, and clear documentation of logs, incidents, and statistics.

Responsibilities include scheduling, transporting inmates to work sites, training on safety protocols, and maintaining professional communication with partner agencies.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid Colorado Driver’s License at time of appointment and throughout employment.
• Must obtain First Aid and CPR certifications within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise inmate work crews and daily assignments.
• Transport inmates safely to and from designated work sites.
• Supervise inmate workers on-site, ensuring conduct and safety
• Conduct inmate headcounts and maintain accountability.
• Inspect for contraband, unsafe conditions, or non-compliance.
• Train inmates in basic job skills and safety protocols.
• Maintain logs, incident reports, and equipment checklists.
• Communicate with partnering agencies and stakeholders.
• Enforce Work Program policies and model professionalism.
