Job summary

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office is now accepting applications for an Intake Release Specialist at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility. This position involves clerical work in the intake and release of inmates and related data entry.

Responsibilities include maintaining inmate filing systems, distributing arrest packages, and preparing release paperwork with state interfaces. Requires a high school diploma, 3 years of data-entry experience, 30 wpm typing, and NCIC/FCIC certification

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
Three years of experience in a secretarial or data-entry environment.
Equivalent combination of training, education, and experience may be considered.
Must type 30 words per minute; a typing test will be part of the application process.
Must be able to become NCIC/FCIC certified within six months of employment.
Internal applicants must have completed the Seminole County Sheriff's Office one year probationary period.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.

Responsibilities

Maintains filing systems on inmates, including data entry of arrest information and ensuring paperwork is in order with correct copies, tickets, and bond amounts.
Distributes arrest packages to the court clerk, state attorney, and programs.
Enters court proceedings, including minutes of appearances, arraignments, and trials; prepares inmate court listings.
Prepares inmate paperwork for release after verification of EOS, FCIC/NCIC, warrants, and holds; retrieves state interface messages.
