Florida Department of Corrections is seeking an Adult Education Teacher at Hamilton Correctional Institution. The role delivers Adult Basic Education and GED instruction across Math/Science, Reading-Language Arts and Social Studies using a blended instructional model.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree or higher and eligibility for the Florida Educator's Certificate; non-certified applicants may obtain a temporary certificate within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university.
• Possess or be eligible to apply for a State of Florida Educator's Certificate.
• Non-certified applicants must obtain a temporary State of Florida Educator’s Certificate within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned academic subjects to students in a correctional institution.
• Plan, develop, and conduct classes using varied teaching techniques.
• Supervise inmates, take counts, and maintain attendance records.
• Evaluate student progress, administer grades and tests, and provide counseling on program progress.

Education
