Job summary

Reserv Claims Analysis, LLC is seeking an Inland Marine Adjuster to investigate, evaluate, and settle complex inland marine claims. You will handle losses ranging from construction equipment to fine art, manage reserves, assess coverage, and coordinate with policyholders, brokers, and counsel.

This remote-first role requires an active license, 3+ years in Property, knowledge of inland marine coverages, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Active insurance adjuster’s license in home state.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred; strong other qualifications accepted.
• Minimum 3 years of Property claims experience.
• Experience handling Inland Marine losses preferred.
• Desk and/or field appraisal experience.
• Willing to obtain all licenses within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt customer service to policyholders and claimants.
• Gather information to initiate the claim and explain policy coverage.
• Manage an inventory of claims and establish initial reserves.
• Investigate, determine coverage, and adjust all elements of commercial property loss claims.
• Coordinate with field appraisers to review appraisals for accuracy.
• Explain coverage including coinsurance, assist with itemization of damages, and mitigate steps.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations, policy provisions, and SOPs.
• Communicate with parties and negotiate settlements within authority.
• Contribute to development of claims guidelines and process improvements.
• Oversee outside investigative services and coordinate with client counsel.

Location Requirement

Candidates must reside in an eligible U.S. state throughout employment. We are unable to hire candidates residing in California, Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, or outside the United States.

About the role

As an Inland Marine Adjuster, you will play a critical role in investigating, evaluating, and resolving complex inland marine insurance claims. This includes losses related to construction equipment, contractor’s tools, transportation of goods, fine arts, and other movable commercial property. You’ll be responsible for managing the claim process from start to finish—assessing coverage, determining liability, estimating damages, and negotiating settlements—in alignment with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.

This role demands strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of inland marine coverages and commercial property policies. You will collaborate with policyholders, brokers, contractors, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders to deliver fair and timely claim outcomes while upholding customer service standards and maintaining claims integrity.

What you'll do

• Provide prompt, courteous and high-quality customer service to all policyholders and claimants by answering customer calls, filing claims, and resolving customer requests
• Gather necessary information from customers to initiate the claim and explain policy, coverage, and appropriate course of action
• Manage an inventory of claims, establish initial reserves for all potential exposures, and adjust as appropriate throughout the claim
• Investigates, determines coverage of loss and adjusts all elements of commercial property loss claims
• Ability to write appraisals for dwelling repairs or coordinate with a team of field appraisers to review accuracy of appraisal written by IA
• Explains coverage of loss including coinsurance, assists policyholders with itemization of damages, and mitigation steps. Experienced with business interruption claims
• Ensure compliance with specific state regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures
• Communicate with involved parties and negotiate appropriate settlements with claimants, insureds, and attorneys within approved payment authority
• Provide input for continuous development of claims guidelines, best practices, and process improvements
• Oversee and direct outside investigative service providers and work closely with the client and client counsel and investigative services to resolve the claim

Qualifications

• Active insurance adjuster’s license by way of a designated home state, or home state
• Bachelor's degree (lack of one should not stop you from applying if you possess all the other qualifications)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with Property claims
• Experience in handling Inland Marine losses preferred
• Desk and/or field appraisal experience
• Willing to obtain all licenses within 60 days, including completing state required testing
• Knowledge of state regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures
• Ability to analyze and evaluate complex data and make sound decisions based on established guidelines, policies, and procedures
